Hydrant Flushing
The Village water system undergoes hydrant flushing twice each year during:
April
October
Hydrant flushing is an important part of maintaining the Village water system and helps remove sediment from the water mains to maintain water quality and system performance.
Following flushing activities, residents may temporarily experience turbidity (cloudy or discolored water). If this occurs, run your cold water faucets for several minutes to help clear your service lines. Residents are also encouraged to check their washing machines and showers before use.
An unusually high water bill is most often caused by a leak or change in water use. Some common causes of high water bills include: A leaking toilet, or a toilet that continues to run after being flushed, most common. A dripping faucet; a faucet drip can waste 20 gallons or more of water a day.
Please view our water loss chart. Some common things that occur daily either intentionally or unintentionally that result in a loss of water.

January 2021 – New Water Treatment Facility Activated
The Village of Millbrook is proud to announce that our upgraded water treatment facility officially became operational on January 5, 2021. This milestone marked the completion of a multi-year improvement project designed to enhance the quality, reliability, and long-term sustainability of the Village water system.
As part of the project, a new advanced filtration system was added to the original water treatment infrastructure. The upgraded system improves water treatment capabilities, strengthens system efficiency, and helps ensure the continued delivery of safe, high-quality drinking water to Village residents and businesses.
The water system improvements were part of a $1.9 million investment that began in 2018. In addition to the new filtration equipment, the project also included the refurbishment of the Village’s water storage tank in 2019, extending the life of critical infrastructure and improving overall system performance.
These upgrades represent the Village’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and modernizing essential public utilities while preparing the water system to meet future community needs.
