During the spring season, brush is collected on a daily basis throughout the Village.

Summer Brush Collection
Second Monday of July, August, and September
Following the conclusion of daily spring brush collection, the Village conducts one scheduled curbside brush collection on the second Monday of July, August, and September.
Residents may place brush curbside up to ten (10) days prior to each scheduled collection date.
To ensure pickup, all brush must be placed at the curb before Monday morning, as the Highway Department makes one pass only through the Village during each collection period.
Brush Pick-Up Rules & Regulations
The Village of Millbrook provides curbside brush collection to assist residents with the routine maintenance of their properties.
All Brush Pick-Up Rules & Regulations must be followed. These rules are strictly enforced, and violations may result in brush not being collected and/or fines or special removal fees being assessed by the DPW Supervisor.
The Village also provides storm damage brush removal for up to two (2) weeks following a storm. This service applies only to storm-generated brush and does not include tree trunks or stumps.
Brush includes tree and shrub branches that are:
- Less than 4 inches in diameter
- Less than 8 feet in length
- Free of leaves, grass, dirt, and other debris
The curbside brush collection program does not include:
- Yard clearing
- Land clearing
- Tree removal
- Brush generated by contractors
- Clearing natural wooded areas
- Tree trunks
- Tree stumps
- Logs
- Root balls
- Lumber or processed wood
- Leaves or leaf piles
- Grass clippings
- Dirt or sod
- Household trash
- Furniture
- Plant pots and containers
Leaf collection begins October 1.
Each property is limited to:
- One (1) brush pile per parcel
- Maximum pile size of:
- 10 feet long
- 6 feet wide
- 4 feet high
Brush exceeding these limits will not be collected and may be subject to a fine or special removal fee.
To ensure safe and efficient collection:
- Place brush neatly alongside the curb or edge of the roadway.
- Never place brush in the street.
- Keep brush clear of sidewalks, travel lanes, fire hydrants, mailboxes, utility poles, and parked vehicles.
- Do not place brush over or around storm catch basins.
Properties with Rear Street Frontage
Brush must be placed on the front address side of the property only.
Corner Lots
Brush may be placed along one street frontage only.
Residents may compost eligible yard waste or dispose of unacceptable materials at the Town of Washington Transfer Station.

This program is intended to assist residents with routine pruning and maintenance of landscaped areas surrounding occupied homes.
It is not intended for:
- Clearing wooded portions of a property
- Site preparation or land clearing
- Large-scale cleanup projects
Brush resulting from clearing natural wooded areas will not be collected. Property owners are responsible for making other disposal arrangements for these materials.
Never place the following materials in the street:
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Dirt
- Sod
- Brush over storm drains
These materials can clog catch basins, cause localized flooding, and result in costly repairs to the Village's stormwater system.
Brush that is improperly prepared or contains prohibited materials will not be collected.
The Village reserves the right to remove improperly prepared brush or debris and assess a special removal fee or other penalties to the property owner.
Spring brush collections are generally completed within one week. During the summer collection program, the Highway Department makes one pass only on each scheduled collection day. If you believe your brush was missed, please contact the Public Works Department.
