Shade Tree Commission

The Village of Millbrook Shade Tree Commission works to preserve, protect, and expand the Village’s tree canopy while promoting the health, safety, and long-term care of trees throughout the community.

The Commission serves in an advisory role to the Mayor and Board of Trustees on matters related to the preservation, planting, maintenance, and management of the Village’s urban forest. The Commission also helps coordinate community tree initiatives and promotes environmental stewardship throughout the Village.

Responsibilities & Activities

The general responsibilities of the Shade Tree Commission Members are to serve in an advisory capacity to the Village Board, to assist the Village Highway Superintendent in management of the tree inventory, to plan and conduct Arbor Day activities and to participate in special projects such as tree plantings.
