The Planning Board plays an important role in guiding the growth and development of the Village while preserving the character and quality of life that make our community unique. Appointed by the Village Board of Trustees, the Planning Board reviews and makes decisions on land use and development proposals to ensure they are consistent with the Village Code and long-term planning goals.

The Board is responsible for reviewing applications such as site plans, subdivisions, and certain special use permits. In doing so, members consider factors like traffic and access, environmental impacts, drainage, infrastructure, and neighborhood compatibility. The Planning Board also conducts public hearings, giving residents an opportunity to learn about proposed projects and share their input.

Through thoughtful review and community engagement, the Planning Board helps ensure that new development is safe, sustainable, and in keeping with the vision of the Village of Millbrook.
